MAMA AWARDS
The MAMA AWARDS was first held in 1999 as the Mnet Music Video Festival,
which became the Mnet KM Music Video Festival in 2004,
the Mnet KM Music Festival in 2006,
and its evolution into the Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS (MAMA) in 2009
announced the arrival of a music awards celebration dedicated to Asia.
Reflecting this focus, since 2010 this annual celebration is held across Asia
with Macau kicking it off, followed by Singapore, and Hong Kong,
establishing itself as a global name for recognizing K-POP achievements.
2017 and 2018 saw the awards show take place simultaneously
across three regions in Asia as the MAMA Week.
Always embracing change, in 2020 K-POP’s biggest night transformed
into a metaverse awards ceremony.
Over the past 23 years, <MAMA>, which has grown up with K-POP
is now ready for the next phase of its evolution.
Perfectly timed with K-POP’s rise to even greater world prominence in 2022,
the more global perspective of the MAMA AWARDS as World’s No.1 K-POP Awards will continue telling
the story of K-POP, the story of how
timeless artistic vision and universal values always prevail.
