BTS Tops Oricon Daily Singles Chart with ′I NEED U (Japanese Ver.)′

BTS′ fifth Japanese single I NEED U (Japanese Ver.) has topped the Oricon chart.

According to the Oricon chart, BTS′ new Japanese single I NEED U (Japanese Ver.), released on December 8, sold more than 43,000 copies on the first day to take over the number one spot on Oricon′s daily CD single ranking. I NEED U (Japanese Ver.) is the Japanese version of the lead single from BTS′ third mini album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1, which was released in Korea in April. The song, about wanting to hold on to a love that is over, also received a lot of love in Korea, earning the group five trophies on music programs.

BTS is gaining popularity in Japan as well, having topped the Oricon daily and weekly charts with fourth single For You in June.

The regular edition of I NEED U (Japanese Ver.), which was also released on Tower Records on the same day, topped the record shop′s online shop daily sales ranking, while the first edition of I NEED U was ranked number two and versions of The Most Beautiful Momment in Life Pt. 2 were ranked number four and five, respectively.
