YG Entertainment′s new girl group BLACKPINK has proven their rising popularity by sweeping Korean music charts and reaching number 1 on iTunes′ album chart. This is a record for a rookie Korean girl group.
As of August 10 at 7AM KST, BLACKPINK′s debut single album Square One
took its place as number 1 on iTunes′ album chart and proved their global popularity as a rookie group.
At the same time, new track Whistle
reached number 1 on Melon, Mnet, Naver Music, Olleh, Bugs, Genie and Soribada.
Along with the new track, the music video has also been receiving a lot of attention. The total views for the music videos of both title tracks Whistle
have already reached almost 9 million views.
Additionally, the BLACKPINK dance practice video, which was released on August 6, garnered over 7 million views.
