Song Joong-ki will be the host of the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Hong Kong, set to be held on December 14.
On December 3, Song Joong-ki’s agency confirmed that he would be the host of 2018 MAMA for the second year in a row. Last year, he successfully led MAMA in Hong Kong with his spectacular public speaking skills. It will be exciting to see how Song Joong-ki will perform as the host of 2018 MAMA in Hong Kong.
The actor's global popularity skyrocketed in 2016 through the popular KBS drama “Descendants of the Sun." Currently, he is set to appear in the upcoming tvN drama “Asadal Chronicles,” which is scheduled to air in 2019.
With less than a week left before the first 2018 MAMA event begins Korea, the hosts for each of the MAMA events has been confirmed. For the “2018 MAMA Premiere in Korea”, actor Jung Hae-in, who starred in popular dramas like JTBC’s “Something in the Rain” and tvN’s “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” is to be the host. Park Bo-gum, who is currently starring in tvN’s “Boyfriend”, will be the host for “2018 MAMA Fans’ Choice in Japan," and Song Joong-ki will lead 2018 MAMA in Hong Kong.
2018 MAMA Week is set to start on December 10, and will take place in Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. The week-long event will start off with the "2018 MAMA Premiere" in Korea at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, continue onto "2018 MAMA Fans' Choice" in Japan on December 12 at the Saitama Super Arena, and close on December 14 with 2018 MAMA in Hong Kong at the Asia World-Expo Arena.
