The end of the year is upon us, and per tradition, Billboard has released their annual year-end charts! The year-end recap is based on chart performances, detailing the best albums, artists, and songs of 2018. With the rising worldwide popularity of K-Pop bands like BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK, and TWICE, K-Pop has made it's mark on the charts like never before. Find out where some of your favorite K-Pop groups place!

What's most notable about this years' charts, is the presence of so many K-Pop groups. While it's not the first time the genre and its artists have featured on the list, it is the first time a K-Pop group has entered on Billboard's year-end "Top 200" artists and albums charts. And, that group is BTS. The group came in #8 for Billboard's "Top Billboard 200 Artists'" chart #85 for "Billboard 200 Albums" chart. The achievement is an amazing milestone and 2018 has seen the group unceasingly break record after record.

And if their record breaking chart win wasn't exciting enough, Twitter released some of their own year-end data on the group. According to the social platform's year-end data compilation, BTS were the most tweeted about celebrities of the year. We're not simply talking about musicians, we're referring to celebrities worldwide. The idols top well known names like LeBron James, Kanye West, and Drake. Other K-Pop artists to make the list were EXO and solo artist Jimin Park. The later of the mentioned K-Pop idols  was actually counted on the list due to her and BTS member Jimin's name being the same. According to Twitter, "BTS fans have at times inadvertently used Jimin Park's handle when tweeting about BTS' Jimin, who is not on Twitter, which could help explain why her account is technically that high on this year's lists".

Excluding their feature on the two previously mentioned charts, BTS has also placed on Billboards' "Top Artist," "Top Artists - Duo/Group," "Hot 200 Albums," "Independent Albums," "Independent Artists," and the "Social 50" charts. Additionally, all three of the septets' "Love Yourself" albums took the top three spots on the year ends' "World Albums" chart. In fact, majority of the picks on the list were K-Pop, some of which include solo albums by j-hope (#6), RM (#7), Lay (#2), as well as group albums from EXO (#5), BLACKPINK (#9), and NCT 127 (#10). K-Pop groups also ranked high on this years "Social 50," a category that K-Pop continuously ranks highly on.
