After four months of waiting, it's official! "Let's Shut Up and Dance," the collaboration single featuring Jason Derulo, LAY, and NCT 127, will be released on February 22, according to 7SIX9 Entertainment.
Leading up to their tribute to one of America's most well-known artists, LAY and NCT 127 have been making major waves in the U.S. market. Last October, LAY released his second studio album "Namanana," which earned him a spot on the "Billboard 200" and connected him more deeply with his U.S. fanbase. Meanwhile, NCT 127 also had a major moment in the U.S. in the Fall, appearing at the American Music Awards, making their U.S. television debut, and becoming one of Apple Music's "Up Next" artists.
The tribute was announced in August 2018 on what would have been Michael Jackson's 60th birthday, and is set release four singles over the coming year. The official site also promises an announcement of feature films and special concert in the future. No word yet on the artists to be included in these projects.
In July 2018, the current chairman of 7SIX9 Entertainment and former president of the Michael Jackson-founded label MJJ Music, Jerry Greenberg also asked Korean superstars BTS to take part in the tribute. While honored, the group was unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts.
